"Our bodies communicate to us clearly and specifically, if we are willing to listen." ~ShaktiGawain
About Singing bowl Therapy Singing bowl therapy is a form of sound and vibrational healing. Sound has been used as a healing catalyst throughout human history, across cultural bounds. Whether the nomadic shaman, the Tibetan Lama, Christian, Islamic, Hindu, African or Jewish priest, sound has been found to carry us closer to that we hold as sacred, and to that we view as whole.
The former director of Medical Oncology and Integrative Medicine at the Cornell Cancer Prevention Center in New York, Dr. Mitchell Gaynor, says, “If we accept that sound is vibration and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical being, then we understand that sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies. One reason sound heals on a physical level is because it so deeply touches and transforms us on the emotional and spiritual planes. Sound can redress imbalances on every level of physiologic functioning and can play a positive role in the treatment of virtually any medical disorder.”
History of Tibetan Bowls: According to Tibetan tradition, the existence of singing bowls dates back to the time of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni (560 - 480 B.C.). The tradition was brought from India to Tibet, along with the teachings of the Buddha, by the great tantric master Padmasambhava. Since eons in history, singing bowls have been used for Tantric Buddhist practices, meditation, healing, and for religious practices. Tibetan bowls vary in size and are traditionally made using Panchaloha, meaning an alloy of bronze. The bowls create a celestial harmonic sound that resonates with your own human energy field, and the Earth’s field. The bowls I use are from Nepal.
Benefits of Tibetan Bowls Vibrational/Sound Therapy: Vibrational and sound therapy has a positive effect on our nervous system and engages our relaxation reflex while also inhibiting the pain or stress response. When we are in alignment our health and healing all come into balance, creating deep harmony within and without. These bowls can heighten one’s intuition, clarity of mind, as well as deep meditative and peaceful states.
Modern medicine can now measure and confirm the practice of sound as a means to promote healing. Thus, sound is a type of energy medicine that creates the sacred space in which people can heal. **However it shouldnotbe used as the only form of medicine, if you have a serious illness please report to a physician first** To schedule a session email me at Kaitlyn@peacefullyrooted.com or Call 631-402-4508
