PREPARING FOR YOUR TREATMENT
Best practices for before, during, and after your session

Drink Water

Drinking water is important to all body functions.  Having a couple glasses of water within a few hours of a treatment helps to circulate blood and prepare the different body systems for the session.  This can be beneficial for post massage as well in helping to flush out the body systems. In the days following your treatment, ensure to drink plenty of water. Staying hydrated allows the cellular waste that has been moved from the body's cells to be excreted from the body.

Relax

Before beginning your session, a few moments of relaxation can help to prepare your mind and body.  Turning off your electronic devices and setting aside any last minute messages for a little silence can bring greater rewards during your treatment.  To help integrate our work with you, we recommend spending 20-30 minutes after your session taking a walk or sitting in stillness. Your time spent with us should be a springboard towards bringing more stillness and mindfulness in your everyday life.

Avoid Alcohol

Alcohol can dehydrate different body systems, especially muscle, tendon, and ligaments.  Please avoid consuming alcohol if possible up to 24 hours before any session.  Alcohol can also induce bruising and similar sensations that can hinder recovery times, it is also best to avoid 24 hours post treatment. We're not saying you can't enjoy yourself, just do your best to take your healing and wellness seriously during this time in order to maximize the benefits of your time spent with us.
